What is LPGVent?

It's a software program property of LPG Prevención y Protección de Explosiones, which applies the European Standard EN 14491 and its national transpositions UNE EN 14491 and NP EN 14491, etc. The program calculates the vent area requirements. Explosion vents and other venting devices which comply with EN 14797 must be used to obtain these vent areas.

LPG Prevención y Protección de Explosiones commercializes and distributes Brilex explosion vents. The correct application of these venting devices depends on the particular characteristics of the equipment to be protected and its operating conditions. We at LPG will collaborate with our expert advice to find the correct venting solution with the adequate vent model for each application. For example silos and hoppers normally use explosion vents type KER, KE or KE-W, filters normally use explosion vent models KE or GE1000. For higher vacuum there are available models GE2000, GE5000, and for absolute vacuum conditions GE10.000.

Our experience is backed up by more than 33 vented explosions up to date (5 th October 2009), all of them calculated by our engineers and software, like the LPGVent, an indispensable tool for vent area calculation and installation of explosion vents and explosion venting devices.
